Alpha 1.1.1


I will be updating Castle Moldvay on a regular basis and I may  not include a dev log for each update. For example, the updates made for Alpha 1.1.1. were mostly just code optimization, turning duplicate functions into base-class functions, etc.  

Bugs/Issues fixed in alpha 1.1.1:

  • When in a village, if the player asks one villager to join the party, it is no longer met with a response from each and every villager

Known issues that still need fixing:

  • NPCs don't seem to be armed when met in the wilderness
  • After an NPC joins a party a "ghost" of the NPC seems to remain in the hex where they were originally met. By "ghost"  I mean a description of the fighter remains in the hex where they were discovered. The ghost is not interactable 
  • When the player attempts to buy an item without mentioning a specific villager/vender to buy from, they may still find themselves getting multiples of the same item from multiple vendors who are selling the item in that village. I'm not entirely sure if I even want to fix this "bug."
  • Creatures who don't use weapons (such as wild cats and giant lizards) will "feint and parry" to get out of melee range with a PC. Wondering if the language should change for beasts who do not wield melee weapons (the terms 'feint' and 'parry' actually come from the sport of fencing ).  Perhaps wild creatures should merely, "back out" of melee or "stand their ground without advancing."
